Frequently Asked Questions

Do you shoot in the studio or on location?

I am happy to work both in my central Manchester studio or on a location of your choice.

Who will be present during the photo shoot?

Just me.  All retouching is done by me, so no one else will see your images. Your proofing gallery is password protected too.

What should I wear for my photoshoot?

If there will be more than one person in the image, it is worth trying to wear complimentary colours and styles to give a cohesive look to the shot. In my opinion, it is best not to wear anything with logos, words or busy patterns near the face as they can become distracting in the image. It might also be a good idea to think about wearing a colour that contrasts or compliments the background you have chosen. Other than that, just wear what makes you feel comfortable on the day.

I do not know how to pose. Will you help with that?

I will guide you every step of the way, so don’t worry about “modelling.”  I have a wealth of experience in posing different body shapes so I promise to make you look your best but ultimately relaxed and happy is the best look!

Will my photos be on your website?

I do not share any client images without your express permission. I respect your privacy and will only share images if you wish.

Do you retouch the images?

Yes, retouching is included. Extensive retouching such as large tattoo removal etc is an additional charge because of how much time it takes. If you have a specific retouching question, just ask and I will be happy to answer.

Do you offer different packages?

Yes, depending on how many images you would like. You can find my pricing information here.

How long does the session take?

It depends on your package... Headshot bookings are for half an hour, branding shoots can be for up to 3 hours.

What equipment do you use?

I use one of the best cameras on the market, a Canon R5ii which I love! I have various lens depending on the shoot.
I am also fully insured and CRB checked.

Which days do you shoot?

I shoot midweek days at 10am. Other times can be arranged by appointment. There is a small supplement for Saturday bookings.

Is the makeover included?

A make up artist can be arranged for an additional charge. My professional make up artist will talk to you about any allergies you have and what sort of look you would like to achieve. Hair and Make up can take up to an hour and a half, depending on your look. Sit back with a drink, have a chat and be pampered!

How do I see my images?

After the photoshoot (usually within 48hours) I will send through a proofing gallery of all your best images for you to select from. I will then edit your favourites to my usual high standards and they will be sent over via digital transfer. You will receive your final images usually within a week from selection. I keep all images and so in the future, if you ever want to purchase more images from the shoot, this is always possible.

If I need to reschedule my booking, is my deposit transferable?

Yes, as long as you let me know 48 hours before the booking that you need to reschedule. If you cancel on the day, the deposit is not transferable.

What payment types do you accept?

A deposit is due to hold your booking- this can be paid by bank transfer or paypal. The balance is due on the day either by bank transfer, paypal or cash. (We do not accept credit cards at this time). You can pay off your balance in instalments as long as it is paid off by the day of your photoshoot.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible! Weekend dates are very busy- we book up 3 months in advance. Midweek availability is usually better- do get in touch with your dates and we can check the studio diary.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes we do- for any denomination and they make great gifts!
